1999 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 review from North America

Overall this truck has been very good. A few minor problems due to the manufacture as follow...

-4 Tires at 37k

-Throttle Body Replaced 37k

-Fuel Filter 37k

-Air Filter 37k

-PCV Valve 37k.

Due to the fact of bad alignment from the factory this truck had to realinged at 37k and all four new tires. The gas pedal stuck for the longest time so Brenengens adjusted a screw at 37k. The passenger window slowly rolls up when key is off, but running it seems to be OK. I had to fix 8 bulbs that decided to go out. The seek button doesen't light up anymore. Speedometer lights burnt out and had them replaced. The fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge are sort of erratic. I had the muffler replaced due to a hole in the pipe and had to replaced from the cat to the rear of the truck. Both of the front speakers rattle...don't know why. There is a ticking noise coming from the engine and I was told by my mechanic that the lifters in the engine were sticky and maybe down the road they might have to be replaced. I also cannot reset the change oil light whenever it comes on... have to take it to the dealer for them to do it and I don't know how they do it.

Overall it has been a good truck other than the recalls that GM finds on them and at the rate that they are going they will end up replacing the whole truck. Oh Well...

Wonderful truck... would buy another.

Right now looking for and Alero or and Aztek for better gas mileage.
