1994 Ford Ranger Supercab review from North America
"Great Truck"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
To date I have replaced the starter 98,000 mile;
The clutch master cylinder & clutch 125,000, miles
Replaced the plugs and wires at 150,000 miles.
The transmission 197,000 miles and the brakes three times so far.
The engine developed a lifter tick at 130,000 and has not gotten any worse to date.
At 210,000 the rear shackles broke away from the frame. This is the kind of stuff you see after this long.
I stopped using AMS-OIL in it at 98,000 due to an oil leak and some consumption.
General comments?
This truck has been a great value. I consistently get 22 miles per gallon. It still has a lot of power considering the abuse I have put it through.
The truck has a lot of room and is great with kids for short rides to school.
It has a good ride and handles very well. It won't take too much overloading.
