2005 Ford Transit T280-115 review from UK and Ireland
"Very comfortable vehicle with good space, but poor mechanical design"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I purchased my Ford Transit 115 T280 SHR MWB TDi in August 2005 as on appearance and driving comfort it seemed to suit my needs. However I am extremely disappointed with the performance of the vehicle although I find the vehicle comfortable and enjoyable to drive. My disappointment is with the Gearing Ratio and the fuel consumption of this van.
I have also been totally frustrated by the lack of information and Technical Knowledge from ford customer services and ford dealers and this is compounded by the fact Ford do not produce performance figures for commercial vehicles. To get technical Help you are required to phone a premium line at £1.00 per minute and even then information is not customer friendly. Overall I would not recommend Purchase of a Ford Vehicle as the Fact there is no direct line technical help line to advise the customer on the vehicle most suitable for their requirements.
I will be changing my transit back to a Volkswagen LT and staying with Volkswagen for my Fleet choice.

General comments?
Very Good Load Space.
Good driving and road handling, but be careful of blind spot on Passenger Side.
Excessive rear axle transmission noise on motorway driving.
Poor fuel Economy due to poor gear/drive ratio
(Probably the reason Ford do not provide performance figures)
no Customer service back-up from Ford.
