1998 Volkswagen Cabrio GLS review from North America
"A rare convertible that is sure to turn heads... but be in the shop as well"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The wires on the car have gone out about three times since I bought the car about 7 months ago. However, most wires now a days are lifetime warranty, so they havnt cost me anything, but 40 bucks for the original wires.
General comments?
The car is very, very nice. A very well built German car. The Cabrio is one of the quietest convertibles I have ever driven, and is a very easy car to drive. The manual transmission is hard to get used to. The gas mileage could be better for a four cylinder engine too. The car has broken down a few times. Nothing major, but still, very inconvient. Accident repairs are very pricey. The car is slower than dirt, which is a turn off for most convertible buyers. The car itself is very comfortable and elegant. I would recommend it to anyone.
