2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS review from North America
"You want cheap, you get cheap!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Shortly I purchased the car there was rattling sound. Of course I took it to the dealer and they could never find the problem. Second is when the AC is turned on, it smells like urine. I have heard of other who have this problem with no resolution. Aside from cheap parts when this car was built, I was pretty satisfied with the car. Now the check engine is coming on and I am losing acceleration when it comes on. It doesn't stay on and seems to happen when the AC is on. They have done a diagnostic and found nothing. Spark Plugs were changed, ignition wire, Air Filter and still the same problem persist. If nothing comes up on the computer diagnostic, than what is it? I am about to sell this car some other person and buy myself a more dependable Camry and let someone else deal with the headaches.
General comments?
This car while peppy, very noisy
You will feel every pothole in this car.
Gas mileage leaves a little to be desired.
