2006 Ford Fiesta Zetec Climate review from UK and Ireland

"Over Priced! Over Tacky!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

This is a brand new Ford Fiesta Zetec Climate 1.4TD and is a company car.

It has started to stall with slight motion in 1st and reverse. This maybe down to me stalling it however the concern is is that it does not start up straight away, and mostly needs constant cranking with acceleration pedal down. However I have driven 2 diesels previously for over a year and a half and can't say I'm a regular staller.

The car is going in the garage this week, fortuantly I don't care for it to much since it's a company car and a poor car at that.

General comments?

I haven't had the company car, but in all to say its value is just over £11,000 I cannot see the logic of someone spending over £11k of their own money for this car.

In general the car is certainly an improvement over the previous fiesta and certainly much more roomier. Sadly its still very cheap, uncomfortable and tacky as all the previous fiestas and to think from my friends 1996 1.3 petrol (poverty spec) this brand new fiesta is still as poor really.

Of course, why did I choose this car? Well because at 21 (just turned) I can't justify spending near £200 a month a company Ford Focus (company car tax & increase in company car band) so decided to stick with the bottom car. However I would have been more than happy sticking with my big comfortable economic and practical Citroen Xantia 1.9TD.

One thing I'm confused about, I drove a Focus hatchback and Estate (55 plates) with the 1.6TD and they were pretty quick, so why is it a fiesta at about half the size and weight? is so so so slow in a 1.4TD.
