1998 Daewoo Leganza SX review from Australia and New Zealand

I have owned the car since new and have been pleasantly surprised with its very reliable performance over the years. I have had no major problems, although at about 43000 kms the CD died, this was replaced under warranty. Both rear power windows failed at around 60000 kms, it was found that this was just an electrical fault, and were fixed under warranty. The SRS airbag light came on at about 72000 kms, a sensor was replaced by dealer under warranty. No other problems other the regular maintenance.

I love this car. I bought it as a budget sedan to get me from A to B, and was planing on trading it in after about 3 or 4 years, however its has served me very well (unlike my previous holden camira) and proved to be a very comfortable car, that I enjoy to drive. The car was outstanding value when I bought it, with all the necessary comforts that you miss on a base model camry or vectra (which are more expensive) My car has not had a particularly easy life either, as I live in Warrandyte, Victoria, where the road conditions are often poor, and in my area many are unpaved, the car has also tackled the hilly terrain well. I understand that many have had bad experiences with Daewoo, I guess I was just one of the lucky ones, and the company has forever earned my respect. The only real problem with the car is resale value, but that's OK, because I now plan to keep it until it will go no more. I look forward too many more happy kilometers, thankyou Daewoo.
