1996 Dodge Dakota Sport review from North America
"It gets the job done quickly"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter replaced at 105,000 miles.
General comments?
This used to be my boss's truck. A 1996 Dodge Dakota Sport. It has a 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive. He is a big motor head and has taken the best care of this truck. It is by far a beast. It may be a little truck with the 3.9L, but with a Cherry Bomb exhaust and new headers with a K&N Air Filter and other little trinkets, sometimes I mistaken this truck for a V8. The gas mileage is fantastic and with high gas prices, it is a lot cheaper to fill than my Lincoln Town Car. I use this truck to drive back and forth to work every day and sometimes take it on the highway to get it moving and blow out any junk that may be building up in the system, like carbon. However, this truck does its job and I have no complaints about it at all. Only thing is air condition was optional and this truck does not have air condition. But hey, I have 2/40 air condition. I just have to roll both the windows down and drive 40mph. Good enough for me!
