1988 Fiat Uno Turbo ie review from UK and Ireland
"Big fun on small money - if you get a good'un"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windscreen wipers only work on full speed and don't self park.
Interior trim is falling apart mainly due to a poorly fitted aftermarket sunroof.
Suspension harsh.
Brakes fade.
General comments?
This car was owned from new by a flamboyant Italian restauranteur and came to me in beautiful condition. It is bright red and looks the biz.
The engine pulls strongly in the midrange and with a grin on your face and a stab on the throttle to get the turbo spinning faster you leave everything else behind, particularly up hills. It is not as revvy as the Metro Turbo I used to have but is better in every other respect.
I have given it 10/10 for running costs because it is a lot of fun for small money and qualifies for limited mileage classic insurance.
