1994 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"Financially draining and I give it a Zero on dependance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well, I am in a large and understanding group it seems... When I first got the thing it only took 2 weeks until I had to take it to the transmission shop where they replaced the seals. That was the beginning of no end... In no particular order (as it is an extensive order and in essence it just runs together now) Fuel pump, starter, brakes (front and back) ever 10,000 miles, ball joints (upper and lower), idler arm, batteries (3) service engine light (repaired once- lasted a couple of months came on again and is still on) EGR valve, windshield wiper motor, fuel injector spider (2 at 500.00 a pop), alternator, back windshield wiper doesn't work, front driver side lock doesn't work with remote (manual only) ABS light on (took to 4 shops--couldn't find the problem or how to get the light off--now the brake light itself is on), power steering fluid leak, water pump (while on a trip of more than 100 miles from home--had to have towed back), hard to start, air conditioner problems, transmission leaks. I have really babied this Blazer over the years, replaced everything faithfully, and let me tell you, after reading the comments from all these other people, I finally know it isn't me here... it IS the BLAZER!
General comments?
This car is absolutely plagued with problems.
It started 2 weeks after I got it. many of the comments on here are assuming it would be easier to trade this vehicle, but when you have these problems and are paying out the butt for it to start with you just fix them (what would you get on trade in anyway) and pray that it is fixed instead of paying out more money.
It has never and I mean never had the power it should, always has a rough idle and the gas smell and hard to start. The brakes, even when new aren't good, it takes forever to stop (just short of the bumper of the person in front of you).
Now that I have it finally paid for I will trade it most definately. Although I won't get 1/10 out of it that I have put in it.
BEWARE is my best sage advice.
