1995 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 review from North America
"Fast, Fun, Cheap and reliable!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Basic wear and tear stuff. H/D starter from Autozone $164, belt tensioner pulley $24 Autozone, siezed rear caliper pins dealer only $16x4, sagging rear windows from broken clips $20 repair kit from NAISSO, broken pass. exhaust manifold bolt $25 for hardened grade 8 bolts.
General comments?
Fast, Fun, and reliable!!! The 9c1 pkg. Caprice has better suspension and heavier duty components than it's more expensive twin, the Impala SS. I beat this car seriously hard for over 10,000 miles. now and it's never even hiccupped on me. With just a little over $500 in modifications I was able to boost hp from 260 to almost 300hp on 87 octane. I consistantly run 0-60 in 6.7 or less and the 1/4 miles. between 14.6-14.9sec. Add to this that I avg. 15mpg city and 23 highway and I've got the best of everything you could want for a fast shiney $2300 car. I know there are faster and arguabley better looking cars out there, but I have yet to find one that does so many things as well as the 9C1. Even though this car is faster than my 90 Firebird Formula, insurance on it is about $400 a year cheaper because it is not considered a sports car.
