1978 Chrysler Valiant CL review from Australia and New Zealand
"Reliable and comfortable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Cylinder Head was replaced just prior to the vehicle being traded. This was due to a large amount of use in a short period of time (3 years)
Radiator was replaced due to collision with a kangaroo.
General comments?
Even though the car started to suffer major problems prior to trade in time (due to covering 200000 Km in approximately 3 years), it was generally a reliable vehicle. The motor had a tonne of guts and could reach speeds of up to 130 km/h with ease. All in all it was a great vehicle for the time, although it would chew the fuel due to the fitment of a 3 speed column shift transmission.
