1984 Toyota MR2 MK1 N.A. review from Australia and New Zealand
"Good, cheap, honest fun"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not too much really.
A bit of rust around the rear wheel arches.
Clutch master cylinder needed a rebore.
New wheel bearing.
Replaced a wiper switch.
All jobs I could do myself at 'parts only' cost.
General comments?
Excellent little car. Not too bad on the fuel either. Wear on synchromesh on 2nd, spoiled the 'off the lights' performance a bit.
Superb on the gravel roads here in New Zealand. Loads of tail out stuff, but never came near to spinning. People say the boot space is too small but it just helps to make you leave all your crap behind when you pack!
Sad to see it go but needed the money. I'm now looking for a MkII to continue the legend.
