2006 Chevrolet Impala SS review from North America
"Great Value and Performance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong.
General comments?
This car has awesome power and handling. The engine roars like a lion (or maybe a Corvette) The leather seats are very comfortable and the car has a nice look and feel to it.
The car cost $27,000, has a quiet ride, corners well, and is a pleasure to drive . I would think the Japanese automakers would charge $45,000 for this car.
The front wheel drive with 303 hp makes the car
feel different than anything I've ever driven.
The fuel economy is very good for a 300hp v-8. I stay mostly in town with an average around 19.5 mpg. When I drive on the highway I average 25 mpg. I suppose the economy will improve once the car is broken in. I marked it as a 7 because of the need for premium fuel.
The only peculiar item is sometimes the transmission shifts are more noticeable from 1st to 2nd gear depending on how hard the accelerator is pressed.
The Onstar Turn by Turn navigation is great. It is very simple to use and negates the need of a $2,000 DVD based system.
