1990 Nissan Sentra xe review from North America
"A reliable little nitrous breathing beater"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
CV joint needed to be replaced, a cheap part, simple do it your self operation. The electrical system is a nightmare, your best off ignoring electrical problems. The interior was destroyed by previous owner, the cheap build quality didn't help either. At 200k miles the automatic tranny shifts hard into second, a some lucas trans treatment help this a lot. Its very horribly slow, even by econo box standards. The car has been totaled 4 times, and is badly rusting so problems are explected.
General comments?
I got this car in a trade for a set of brake calipers and a water pump, the idea was to use it as just a winter car. Soon, with my Rx-7 in storage, I got bored and dropped in a nitrous kit just for fun, and I must say I was very surprised. This car at 200k miles stood up to a dry 50 shot of Nos with no problems and on top of that actually performed very well. I'm on my third N20 tank and the car just won't quit, and neither can I, I can't wait until the track reopens this spring. What a car, it runs 200k miles, gets into 4 accidents (previous owners), and is subjected to constant N2O abuse, truly an outstanding little car.
