2006 Toyota VIOS G review from Malaysia
"What you pay is what you get"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Couple of things I noticed to check out with fellow users:
The back passenger seat is of course a known issue and it is still an issue.
I noticed that the back sensor may go hay wire if the car left in direct sunshine for a long time - WHEN the constant beeping just would not stop though it ONLY happens intermittently.
Braking sound: occasionally on the road, the brake does not work as as smoothly as I wish it to be. Is this a known ABS or EBD issue as sometimes you can notice some rotation sounds while slamming on the brakes?
Braking sound - after the car is left cold for a while (especially overnight), during the start up with reverse gear, do you notice a braking sound? It is pretty soft and you need to listen carefully to hear it.
General comments?
Generally I am still satisfied with the car and IT looks a lot nicer after the face lift.
But I do not appreciate the slower response of the automatic transmission, but I guess this is a non issue as I am used to a manual car.
Petrol consumption is about RM0.15 - RM0.16 per km when driv in the city and it drops to RM0.12 on the highway. Has anybody found a lower
rate ?
Usage of OD off - be careful as RPM rushes to 4500 minimal, but the SURGE is extremely good.
