1986 Pontiac Parisienne review from North America
"Excellent and classy 6 door limousine!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
During the time that I had it the only thing that went wrong with this car was a slight coolant leak- I could hear hissing coming from somewhere behind the radiator after the engine had run for a while. One bottle of bars stop leak later the problem was solved for at least the next 4000 miles or so.
General comments?
This was a very unique vehicle, a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne 6 door limousine. I got it on Ebay for $1200 when it only had 59000 miles on it! It was an awesome ride, very quiet, extremely comfortable and roomy plus it was absolutely massive! It had the olds 307 4 barrel V8 engine in it, and picked up remarkably well from a stop for such a large vehicle, but due to the gearing it was pretty gutless past 60mph, if I wanted to pass at highway speeds I'd have to be going downhill with a tailwind. I did not have this car long, I sold it for $2500 in order to buy a smaller more economical vehicle, but I sure did enjoy it for the short time I had it. For a twenty something year old car it ran very well, and seemed quite reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Parisienne if I saw a good deal, although this time I think I'd go for a normal four door!
