2001 Chevrolet Impala BASE review from North America
"A piece of junk - don't buy!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1) My intake manifold gasket broke at 70K miles. This has been a problem on GM's V6 engines for YEARS (affected 3.1, 3.4 and 3.8 L) Cost $700. For YEARS GM did NOTHING until around 2002/03.
2) My tranny valve body broke costing me almost $1300.
After the two repairs above, the car now burns 10% more gas which is great with gas being $3.00.
General comments?
Rides too much like a boat.
Rear seats not comfortable as they're too low.
