1992 Chevrolet Corsica LT 3.1 V6

Summary:

I adore this car!

Faults:

Drivers seat is a little low - I had to create a seat cushion for it.

Rattling coming from the front right side of car - not shocks/struts. Sounds like engine mount.

General Comments:

I love this car! I am a college student who was having a hard time juggling work and school with public transportation.

I've purchased the Corsica from a dealer in April of 2008.

1992 Chevrolet Corsica LT 3.1multiport FI V6

Summary:

I likes it very much! My mother is jealous!

Faults:

My Corsica didn't give me a lot of problem except I had to change the spark plug cable when I bought the car, and I had to change the TCC (torques clutch converter) and I had to change the pad break.

I had a few of the little problems that come with all the cars normally. (for example: change some lights) I think that it's a very good car for a teenager (who I am!)

General Comments:

I love the power that comes with the V6, it gives good acceleration.

It is a comfortable car. I live in Quebec and in the winter sometimes the temperature go below -20°C and it always starts the first try and goes very well.

I recommend this car for everyone, but I have to tell you that you must check the car very well before buying it, especially if the car has 200 000 km and more.

Summary:

What this car lacks in style, it more than makes up for in performance

Faults:

The transmission was replaced almost immediately after I acquired the car.

The alternator needed replacement.

The radiator needed replacement.

The gear shift lever inside the engine broke and needed to be moved manually in order to get the car to the mechanic to be fixed!

The back bumper has separated from the car, but as of yet, it hasn't fallen off and I doubt it ever really will.

The parking brake has never worked, apparently it broke before I acquired the car.

The fuel pump needed replacement.

The car has had some problems starting immediately, most of which cleared up after the fuel pump was replaced.

Plastic parts in the dashboard have broken such as cup holders and parts of the glove compartment.

General Comments:

Even though this car has had its share of rather expensive problems, I'm still quite happy with it. I believe most of the problems that have plagued this car are due not by the design of the car, but to the way it was treated (or mistreated) by previous owners and other drivers. All in all, considering I drive over several miles of rough gravel roads each day, the car is very tough and sturdy.

This car is also very fun to drive! I love the way it handles. It virtually drives itself. I have never enjoyed driving any other car more than I do my little blue Corsica.

This car is my first car, and in my opinion, it makes an exceptional "first car." It's a great car for teenage drivers because it is relatively easy to take care of, and it can take a beating and still remain reliable.

All of the controls in the car are really easy to use. It's very user friendly, and very easy to drive.

The interior is not high style or fashion, but it is very comfortable!

The only major complaint I have about this car is its poor gas mileage. But then again, it wasn't my idea to put a V6 into a compact car.

1992 Chevrolet Corsica LT 3.1 V6

Summary:

Great First Car

Faults:

The door for the gas tank does not latch.

The fuel gauge is inaccurate.

My brake lines just went. (136000 miles)

Paint is peeling.

The interior is worn.

Serpentine Belt (Easy Fix) (135000 miles)

General Comments:

Despite the brake lines just going, and the other small details, I love this car. Has a lot of get up and go and the engine sounds great. Also, the speakers sound really good, especially for being stock.
