The only good thing I have to say about this car is it will get up and go.

I have 85000km on my car. It runs and drives fine, but I'm not getting heat from the heater. It doesn't overheat; the coolant is fine, but no heat. Has anyone had the same PROBLEM?

2004 Chevrolet Epica LX 6 cylinder

Summary:

EXPENSIVE to keep running

Faults:

My rear wheel bearings.

My right rear spindle bushings.

My transmission lines rusted out.

My brakes, which is basic wear and tear.

My converter.

My wipers have a mind of their own.

My heater is on hot and will not come back to cool.

My valve cover seals leak oil into spark plug wires, causing a miss.

General Comments:

I like the car to drive. It seems OK, but have had a lot of issues and spent a lot of money on repairs compared to my old 1996 Lumina. It seemed to go forever without any issues, unlike this piece of crap car. I done some research, and the car is NOT AT ALL A GM product!!! The actual make of the car is DAEWOO (made in Korea). If this had of been brought to my attention in the first place, I would have not purchased this crap car!!!

2004 Chevrolet Epica LT

Faults:

Wheel bearings.

Traction control.

Brake rotors.

Steering.

Electronics.

Stalling.

General Comments:

I've had this car for 5 years, 120,000 kms. It started stalling just after the warranty was up.

It's always been serviced by the dealer. The service people are always ignorant and extremely rude when we try to have it fixed. I can't believe GM allows their service departments to treat customers so poorly.

I've always been a die hard Chevrolet guy, but I'll never buy a GM again due to this junk car and ridiculous service.

Another Chevy fan chased off by the obvious fact of poor GM quality and customer service.

2006 Chevrolet Epica LTZ 2.5 inline 6

Summary:

Good car for a smooth ride at legal speeds

Faults:

The right heated exterior mirror broke by itself on a very cold day. Otherwise, 100% reliable.

General Comments:

A marvellous car! Awesome. Luxury, comfort and many features! Not a 0-60 champion, but a great transportation. Good paint quality as well. No rattles inside.

2004 Chevrolet Epica

Summary:

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!!

Faults:

Engine sputters.

Had to replace transmission and gear shift.

When shifted into Drive, it sometimes went into reverse and vice versa.

Replaced rear drivers side brake light 4 times.

When parked for long periods of time (24 hrs),the engine would not turn over until one played with the gear shift for several minutes.

General Comments:

Biggest lemon on the market.

Tried as all heck to get GM to buy it back. We didn't succeed, and now we're stuck with a $26,000 sour lemon.

2005 Chevrolet Epica LS Inline 6 cylinder

Summary:

Not a bad car, terrible transmission

Faults:

The car was brand new, the mileage is because it was brought in from out of town. Shortly after I purchased the vehicle I was going up a hill and heard a loud KLUNK, I thought the transmission had broken or something. I took it to the dealer, the mechanic took it for a test run and said that there is nothing wrong with it. Later it would not downshift until I shut it off and restarted, They changed the TCM. When you "boot" it, it does not respond for a second or two. Another time I was in heavy traffic (going through an intersection from a stop) and the engine raced (to 4000 rpm) ;had the transmission grabbed in this situation I would have been in BIG TROUBLE.

General Comments:

The car is actually quite nice, my biggest complaint is with the transmission.

Would I buy another car from this manufacturer? I'd have to think a long while.

Would I buy another car from this dealer? Not likely!

I have owned my 2004 Epica since new and generally find it a good car. However I share the transmission comments and would like to know of others and what solutions were found.
