2001 Acura 1.7 EL premium review from North America

One problem I have consistently had with my Acura El is the drivers seat as well as in the civic the mountings and sliders seem to have play, I think the problem is that although the adjustments on the drivers seat which the civic does not have add to the problem. Another issue that both cars have is trouble with the front struts and the front control arm bushings I believe this is due to the new design in these cars in 2001 when the got rid of the double wish-bone suspension.

I have noticed that this car has more role than that of its previous models, but suits the cars luxury theme. I have had my car up to 215 kilometres per hour and this is to much for the design, but the attempt to get there was not all that bad. One very nice thing about this car is a lot of the small components are the same design as the Civics of the corresponding years so you can get parts from those cars for a cheaper price. With all the little extras in this car I find it to be much more enjoyable than the standard or even the top Civic. Something about driving an Acura vs. a Honda allows for pride when you pull up to the lights and you are beside a car of the same class, but it doesn't contain the same CLASS if you know what I mean. I find the passing and pick up power are very nice and smooth for the size of car. When people complain about the power then maybe you should look at the 1.7 badge before you buy and maybe test drive the car and see what its about, if you do not think it is enough power Don't BUY IT, THIS CAR IS NOT A SPORTS CAR IT IS A AFFORDABLE LUXURY CAR WITH PREMO GAS Mileage.
