"So so at best.. OVERRATED"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Well maybe I rushed into purchasing this car or maybe I just wanted out of my gas guzzling YET VERY DEPENDABLE F-150... but since I had the car at 164,000 (I know high) I have replaced the radiator... blower motor (pumps out heat/a/c)... not 1 but 2 distributors!!! I have heard this is a common problem in these cars. I liked it at first.. but damn I think for a Honda engine that it SUCKED! BUY AMERICAN!!

General comments?

U-S-A!!!

You buy a car at 160K miles and complain about mechanical problems?

Incidentally, only in Nth America is the Integra an "Acura". Elsewhere it's just a plain Honda Integra, a larger car based on a Civic platform. Nothing special. Same with the Honda Legend. They're all just Hondas.

Pre 1990 American trucks are very reliable. I had a Dodge D50 and it was great. Nothing went wrong with that thing. Then I got a Buick Regal 1992... what a piece of crap. The whole interior electrical system went out, the gas gauge was whacky, and the car almost died on me in the middle of I-95. I got off at an exit, the car died, and a guy later ran into the car cause it didn't have enough "umph" to get to the side of the road, plus he was an idiot and didn't notice my emergency lights. Glad the Regal is so huge, cause the guy hit me at around 45 mph and the trunk was almost into the front seat. I can't say anything about Dodges, but I've heard horror stories about them too.

1.9 liter engine?? I don't think so.

Maybe the alleged 1.9L engine was to blame for the car's problems.

Reviews like this should be deleted...

160000km's is nothing for an Integra 1.8 DOHC. That being said, there are people that can kill the best built cars in under a year. I've owned domestics and now I own imports, not because I like supporting foreign companies. Although they do put more a lot into North America. They build cars that hold their value better then domestics and for good reason, they're simply built better. Usually parts are stronger, less prone to failure.

The thing that really gets me though, is how far off the big three are, name a domestic car you could replace an Integra with in 1990? Tempo? Cavalier? Spirit? I assume there was a big cost difference between these cars new, but give me a break...

I'm probably preaching to the choir anyway...
