Ignition blew-- ~135k.
Muffler has 2 or 3 tiny holes/rust---needs replacing.
ABS cylinder replaced w/used one due to leaking (got used one considering they run $1000 new--used was $150) ----1st used one had same problem----got 2nd one for free shipped by same company (under warranty) ---seems OK now---other than having to resort to dealer, I had to hunt very hard to find someone to even work on my ABS--- (I didn't want to have to pay a dealer). Found a garage to replace it for $200} (1st time, then on 2nd one was $150}.
Rotors are rusting---need replacing.
Replaced cat converter due to inspection failure (high on NoS or Co2--don't remember) ---seems to run & sound smoother now, & was ony $150 or so max to replace.
Valve cover gasket was shot---replaced last summer. Oil was all over plug wires--mess!!
Replaced timing belt, radiator, & master cylinder in 2001.
Replaced rotor/cap, plug wires/fuel filter 3 months ago or so.
I'm about to replace the rusted muffler
with a custom performance (exhaust) system----not sure how much I'll have done yet--I don't care too much about sounding like a rice--burner out of hell----called today to inquire about it actually. (approx. $300 installed)
The only aftermarket part on this car was the K&N intake, which I love to pieces. I don't race it, so I'm not picky about the air-intake. I love K&N.
I put a sub box w/2-12's & 2 amps & cap a few months ago. I'm a music nut. Listen to a lot of everything. I'd like a new CD/radio player.
I'm keeping my eyes/ears open for stuff I could do to this ride. "I want a short-throw shifter & performance headers to go w/the custom exhaust, as well as racing pulleys/etc. I'm not a mechanic, but I love to learn.
I would like to know if it's possible to buy a (computer) chip for more horses in this '92.
I know I should replace the water pump----she's pushin' 138k miles---dunno if it's ever been replaced.
What else should I be doing?
I could go on with stuff I've done/need to do.---I love this car!!! I plan on driving this baby in the ground--at least just the engine----I baby it for the most part---oil/fluid changes/standard maintenance/etc.---If need be, I'll just buy another engine block. ---
John---Texas.
It's me again (John) ---I wrote this review last night---forgot to add that a/c went out shortly after I bought the car in fall '99. the tests I've had on it say it has a hole in the evaporator. I've been through a nightmare at Econo Lube N Tune in Plano, Tx (15th/Custer) in 2000 or so where they said they'd fix it & I even bought my own condenser (??--I think--not compressor) at Auto Zone, which Econo Lube said the car also needed. Well, they had it a few days, then had to take it to Dallas to a garage that works on auto electronics, & they didn't do nothing. Well, my dad filed suit after this in small claims because we paid for some of this stuff they had already "done". We got our $ back, thank goodness, & I'll never go there again. So--I'm working on getting my a/c fixed right now---all the leak-detection tests I've had done in the past have said nothing about the compressor, which I sure hope is OK, because it's costly to replace, around 7 or 800. I will retro-fit everything to R134A fittings, also.
You shouldn't chip your integra most cars from honda don't last long when chipped.
