I've had this vehicle for only 5 months, I've had to replace quite a lot of things, as time went on pretty much everything went wrong.
I've replaced the starter, alternator, exhaust, clutch, spark plugs, battery, front end tie rods & water pump. Then the motor blew and I am not going to repair it. Although, I did take great care of this vehicle and did the maintenance on it, it still gave me crap.
- Handles well.
- Seats are stiff.
- Was roomy for a small compact vehicle.
- Accelerated pretty good.
- Got good gas mileage.
- Stock system sucked.
- Had electrical issues with the pop
up headlights.
My own opinion here, I'd never own another Integra or anything manufactured by Acura. Some Integ's quote un quote may run along time?..They're put together cheap and not very reliable vehicles in the long run.
Acura Integras are quite reliable. Mine has 152,000 miles on it and I drive it all the way to San Francisco or Las Vegas (from LA) at times. No problems yet. Maybe you or the previous owner abused the car or didn't maintain it well.
Are you stupid only 150k that's is weak sauce.
I have a Toyota Corolla 1984 that is running at 589,125 Same engine and Transmission! Clutch changed 3 times.
I changed the brakes and suspension once and the engine has never blown a head gasket and the transmission never had severe problems.
5 months is, but a fraction of this car's lifespan. so you probably got a rotten abused car. Quality is low compared to what? Quality of Honda cars is not in question here, but you're grammatica leaves much to be desired. Inspect before you buy! 1991 Honda Civic SI 405 136 KMS original motor, trans-axle and clutch.
I own my 1989 integra ls for 3 years now, and have only had normal wear and tear repairs to make, it has only need 1 clutch replacement, timing belt, (popular issue in honda) and only now the two front axles. no rust, and I have 150,000 miles on it. Not bad for a 18 year old car eh? You must have gotten one that was severely abused, because any honda made car is tough to break like that. Sorry for your loss.
OK buddy, you need to calm down and go easy on the tegs, just because you got a crappy one that the previous owner obviously didn't take care of, doesn't mean every car made by Acura and Honda suck. Maybe next time you buy a car you'll check it out first. And of course the stock stereo sucks, it was made in 1989? What do think it's gonna sound like?????
I have a 1989 Integra RS with just over 250,000 miles. I am replacing tranny (my fault, racing) right now, these are great cars if kept up and taken care of.
I have an 89 Integra RS. I bought it back in May of 2005 with 188,000 miles on it. This car is definitely the best running car I've ever had. I've put money in it just keeping up general maintenance, and a few other problems I've had with it from just not taking care of it.
It started burning more oil @ about 222,000 miles, so I replaced the motor. With almost 3 years of owning this car, I've only replaced an alternator, brakes and hoses, struts, power steering rack, and the motor (only because I really didn't change the oil and keep up the maintenance).
It's running great now with 286,764 miles on it with no signs of quitting. It burns little gas, and still looks great for a 18 year old car. Don't have any rust issues.
Great job Honda.
It sounds like you bought a car that needed some maintenance and wasn't taken care of until you bought it. Because almost everything you replaced were things that commonly wear out on any vehicle. Somebody just drove it into the ground. Pop-up head lights were never really a good thing on any car if you ask me. But I must say I've have not had any problems with the ones on my 1989 Acura RS except the time I wrecked the car. That'll do it. Acura Integra's are in my opinion some of Honda/Acura's finest cars they have ever made. I also have a CRX si 1986 with 320k on it still kicking 23 years old.
