1990 Acura Integra LS review from North America
"Reliable Transporation"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Car has weak CV joint design. I have replaced boots numerous times and have actually replaced the axles 2 to 3 times.
Speedometer cable was noisy. I ended getting it lubricated, but it would return to its noisy state after about 30,000 miles each time and ended up being replaced at around 225,000 when evaporator coil got replaced.
Engine pulley went out at 165,000 miles and wasn't noticeable until I replaced about 3 alternators in a row.
Air conditioner refrigerant upgraded at 225,000 miles and has provided excellent service.
Driver side latch broke at 190,000 miles.
Power steering pump replaced at 250,000 miles.
AC compressor replaced at 225,000 miles.
Clutch replaced at 265,000 miles.
Electronic controls on radio have intermittent problems at 270,000 miles.
General comments?
This is a very basic Integra. It basically gets you from point A to B although it handles much like a sports car. Original engine is still in the car.
Frame-less window design is a problem in resisting wind noises and moisture.
