Minimal rust around fenders.
Antennae motor burned out.
Let me say this: the Acura Legend LS Coupe kicks the snot out of every other car I've encountered!
This car was purchased dirt cheap from a nice, old couple who unfortunately, didn't know how much their car was worth, and what they should have been asking. It pays to bring cash when negotiating a price!
I'm only 16 but got this beauty from my brother who sold it to me so he could purchase a '93 Legend LS Coupe.
The car needed some cleaning and small rust repairs, but after that, I haven;t encountered a single problem since we've owned it.
I am very proud to say that I am the envy of most everyone at my school; my ride beats em' in both style and performance. But I sure do take care of this gem, it deserves it!
This car is perfect as a daily driver, and I don't think I could be any happier and more pleased with this car, unless of course I could get a '91-'95 Legend LS Coupe, but that can wait.
My last comment: congratulations Acura! You have earned yourself a life-member when it comes time for that new car purchase. Everybody else, if you go Acura, you're doing the right thing.
I very much enjoyed reading your review. I do believe you're envied at school! Your Legend will last you a long time because you'll give it TLC. I'm considering "trading up" (give to nephew) from an excellent 86 Accord - bought new - to an 89 Legend and your comments help. I've always liked the look, size and sportiness of the original Legend. Good luck and thanks for your comments.
I am also a 16 year old guy who owns a 89' Legend LS 4-door sedan. I have owned it for 10 months and am completely satisfied with it. It has a sweet engine and it goes very fast, even for being 12 years old. The only thing that has gone wrong was when my distributer cap blew... cost me a little bit but, I still own my car. I will definitely take into consideration when buying a new car that it be an Acura.
I am 16 also, and just got a 1990 Legend. I've had no major problems. The car was bought really cheap and is in great shape.
The only downside is that it has 196,000 miles. It still has more power and is easier to drive than my mom's new car.
My car, I guess came with all the options. Even including a CD player. I had no clue those were in cars in 1990. Also power seats, seat memory, sunroof, and power mirrors.
I'm 18 and own an '89 Acura Legend. I love my car, I have raced it against quite a few different cars and even beat a new M3 with it. The only down fall is most manufactures didn't start making performance parts for this car until 1991.
I think who ever wrote this review, was the one to make all these comments. Give me a break buddy.
Wow even all the comments are written the same, age, model, and commenting how "great" the car is! I think these comments are fake too!
Hello, I am 19 years old, and I have a 89' LS Legend. The car was given to me by my uncle on my 16 birthday. He had stage one port-polish-balancing done to the engine, and since then I have done stage two. I have re-done all the electrical cables and have changed the transmission to a stage two racing auto trans. I re-did the entire exhaust system. I pulled the cat out, enlarged the pipe, and added a different muffler. I have Conny ajustable shocks with Pir. ZR rated tires. I reached 152 mph and did the quarter-mile in the low 11's. The thing is that at that time, I had 215,695 miles on her. Right now she's at 216,156. I would really enjoy speaking to anyone who has a Legend. If you want to share some information or you need some on your Legend, email me at Bugsb41@hotmail.com And if you wanna race, lets go!
Whats up Acura lovers, just wanted to add a comment about my Legend. I bought it off a 70 year old man who never even got it past 50mph. He bought it brand new in 89' with 0 mileage, I got it a month ago with 142,000. The car is the nicest and quickest car I've owned yet, and i've had two Camaros and a 73'Pontiac. Because of it being such a small car with a six cylinder and a 5 speed manual transmission, it really surprises people with more than just luxury. I wish you all luck with your rides.
