Rust, recalls, oil leaks, bought new 5-speed transmission, replace whole front suspension... all this & it only had 70,000 miles (it was worn out already).
Overrated cars. This car is not big & safe, in a 30 mph wreck with a Ford Taurus - it totalled my car, & broke my leg. Other car & driver was fine.
Unlike what the other survey person said, these cars don't go up in value, they go down like everything else. Don't believe this nonsense.
Maybe you should buy a Ford, they're really great and safe too. Did you see the front offset crash results from the new F150, boy it made me feel safe :>). As for your comment about the Legend's resale values, show me anything from the big three that will bring the same percentage of original retail, you can't and you know it, and don't even get me started on the safety issue because if your Legend was a total after being hit by a Taurus it probably died from embarrassment over the fact that it was hit by the world's ugliest car. I've owned two Acura's and both were great cars!
Wow sir, I am leaning toward the side that you are not telling the truth, but I won't go on that matter.
I have an 88 Legend, my sister has a 90. She had an accident in it in which it was hit by a 300ZX. The 300ZX driver who was at fault, totaled, the Legend.. needed some body work, but came out looking a lot better than that ZX. She is fine by the way, came out without a scratch on her.
Was the Taurus parked when you hit it? I would expect that from anyone who calls an Acura Legend unsafe and poorly built.
My 1988 Acura Legend LS was hit quite hard by a 95 Suburban on the driver's side. My car suffered a crumpled fender and door, but nothing else. The airbags did not even deploy and I was unscathed.
I disagree with your assertion that Acura Legends are unsafe most emphatically.
