2005 Acura MDX Touring Navi review from North America
"Top notch quality will bring me back to Acura again and again!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing so far.
General comments?
My MDX is great, but I wish it used regular fuel. The acceleration is only slightly better than the Pilot, which burns 87 octane.
I'm a tall guy and the low roofline over the door opening can be tricky on entry, but once settled in the driver's seat, it's very comfortable and roomy.
The navigation system is awesome... the best I've seen, although the voice recognition system is far from perfect. Mine does a much better job of picking up on my voice commands when the vehicle is standing still and it's quiet (i.e. no road noise & no kids!). One minor gripe is that the bluetooth synch button is right next to the voice command input button and I can't tell you how many times I've tried to enter a voice command and been thrown into Bluetooth phone synchronization.
The rear view camera is another feature that's well worth the expense. A lifesaver when turning around in tight spaces.
It has a nice wide floor area in the rear, which is great for hauling wide flat items, but the rear seats don't fold 100% flat to the floor like the 3rd row seats do, which interferes with loading and positioning some large items.
