2002 Acura RSX Type-S review from North America
"Poor unregcognized design flaws"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car is a 6 speed short shift manual transmission, the 1-2 shift grinds, but the dealer has classified this a 'normal' notchy or ratchety shift. My transmission was replaced due to the 'normal' shifting problems which destroyed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear. The new transmission, now with 200 miles on it, has the exact same problem as before, but also has a non-engaging 3rd gear pop out issue which the dealer refuses to acknowledge.
The 2002 and 2003 RSX Type-S models have all been built with this design flaw. Acura will not extend the trans warranty or recall the lemons.
General comments?
Everything else about the RSX is impeccable, unfortunatly without a reliable transmission, the car is worthless.
