1996 Acura TL review from North America
"Complete peace of mind"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radiator (twice 200K & 450K)
Ignition switch
Voltage regulator
Replaced all intake valves at 300k
A/C blower motor (twice)
CV joints once each side.
General comments?
Car is pretty much all original except for the few parts I've listed as replaced. Original engine, transmission, rotors, struts.
The exterior is rust free (always garaged); the few dings it ever had I have paid to get removed (Dent Wizard). However, I've learned to fix them myself after watching them do it enough times.
Interior looks new except for the leather on the steering wheel, and a little wear on the drives seat.
Frustrations include wind noise (which I fixed with vacuum hose), rear brakes have to be replaced every 40k, rear wheel noise after tires get around 30k on them.
I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains; this car handles very well and is very comfortable.
I have self maintained the car since I became disappointed with the dealer after the second timing belt change at 200k.
