2005 Acura TL review from North America
"A lot of car for $34,000"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing so far.
General comments?
What a gorgeous looking car, inside and out. Before buying this I had considered a used BMW 5 series, but after much snooping around discovered what these cars cost to maintain. BMW stands for Bring My Wallet apparently.
Having owned two Honda's before I'm spoiled by virtually Zero maintenance problems. This car doesn't even need a full service until 105,000 miles!
My only complaint is that the manual gear shift LED read out telling you what gear you're in should be in the center display rather than in the Rev counter where it is blocked by the steering wheel for much of the time.
Being in my early 40's now my days of street racing are over, so I haven't really put this car through any hard driving (as yet)! It's seems very quick and responsive. Almost 30 mpg on the Freeway is excellent for a car with level of performance.
As time goes by I'll up this site with any service issues.
PS if you're thinking about buying a TL... get the Nav.. it's amazing!
