2001 Acura TL 3.2 review from North America
"A good car, but not if your castrophobic"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission Problems apparentally this is quite common of this modele.
Poor quility seats had several rips.
General comments?
I bought this car to replace my '96 Lexus mainly because of the TL's GPS navigation system.
I'll never understand how this could be considerd a luxury car the interior looked like it had thrown together in 5 minutes:
the seats were narrow and uncomfortable,
the seat belts were too tight, far back, and extremely uncomfortable to ware, it also had the worst grade of leather I've ever seen, the sunroof was small and didn't go all the way back, and the roof was low.
It also had a rough and bumpy ride while the Lexus drove like it was riding on a cloud.
It got real poor gas mileage and to make things worse it ran on premium fuel.
The engine had way too much power for a front wheel drive car.
It was almost imposable to stop smoothly.
Wasn't the best handling car either.
Despite all this the car was extremely reliable.
The sport shifter was also fun to use.
The GPS was also great.
One day a guy driving a Saturn SUV decided to run though a red light, crashed into the TL and totaling it beyond repair.
R.I.P old friend.
