2000 Acura TL review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I owned the vehicle for approximately 6months, while driving in a heavy rain storm the Traction Control System engaged automatically. The car lost all traction and slid off the road into a ditch. As a result of this accident it caused over $12,000.00 (twelve thousand!) dollars of damage. Very costly for cosmetic only damage.
Recently I was driving and was receiving hesitation while the transmission was switching from first to second then second to third. This also caused the Traction Control System to engage? I was fortunate to have the 7/year 100,000/mile warranty because the transmission needed to be replaced. I was ensured there was nothing wrong with the Traction Control System and It had nothing to do with the transmission. I will be selling my vehicle immediately!
General comments?
The services received on the TL for both incidents was less than satisfactory. My husband and I have owned several Acura models (Integra, Prelude, Ledgend, and the TL) and as long as you have no problems or complaints you receive service with a smile. I will not and would not reccommend Acura to anyone after this.
Performance on our Acura models have been wonderful until the TL, that's why we were repeat buyers.
