2005 Acura TL review from North America

Over 25,000 trouble free miles in 7 months!

I'm a big guy 6'4" and 230lbs. The seat in the Acura lacks length (support) in the thigh area making seat adjustment problematic for long commutes.

I have reservations about the seat heater as well. (I know - a luxury - but one gets to loving it quick) The seat heater is not controllable beyond high or low - neither of which fits my comfort range.

The mileage is exceptional for what feels to be a larger car - Over 25,000 miles and I am getting 28 mpg, at an average of 48 mph - I commute 150+ a day, city and highway.

Visibility and blind spots make it less than perfect. Small spot mirrors are necessary to clear vision to side and rear, especially on driver's side.

Power is adequate, and much more fun to use the 'man-u-matic'. Turn off the VSA, (vehicle stability assist) drop 'er into first and go, shift when you want, rev her high - oops, "what's with the inability to run out 1st gear?" That's right folks, the fine engineers at Honda think it's best to leave it an automatic until second gear is engaged. Takes some of the fun out of it. Especially when some yup pup in a Beemer is posing.

Torque steer is there, but live with it. It's not like the wheel gets wrenched out of your hands!
