1992 Acura Vigor GS from North America - Comments

Most Problems with this lovely car have been due to neglect of the original owner.

Replaced O-ring in the (I) dle (A) ir (C) ontrol valve as it had a coolant leak and caused the vehicle not to Idle correctly. $5 CAN for OEM part.

Had to replace both CV axels. Original owner could not even turn right for fear of the joint popping out. $300 CAD.

Had to replace clutch. Not such a big deal with a car with 181k on it. Acura dealership said original clutch was fine, but all the disc springs had fallen to pieces. Made an awful noise and I thought Main shaft bearings were damaged. Luck and the dealership were on my side and only $650 CAN and the car performs like she is new.

Replaced timing belt and water pump. Original belt lasted 168K and Acura said it could of gone further. Acura also thought it would be a good idea to replace the Water pump while everything was apart.$600 CAD.

Replaced right Wheel bearings and hub unit. Making odd noise like a grinding whirling. Again acura to the rescue.$450 CAD.

Replaced all brake pads. Easy to do and not to pricey.$100 CAD.

Replaced antenna mast. Not cheap, but easy to do.$100 CAD.

Replaced all filters including Fuel. Again not too expensive and very easy.

Replaced front tires. Original tires worn badly $250 CAD.

Minor Body damage on passenger front door. Putty and paint cheap! Used door molding $50 CAD too bad only one scrap yard deals in Vigors here in Vancouver!!!

I love my Vigor very much! Now I did purchase it from the original owner- NOT running- for cheap. He had abused it and not done any maintainence. A real shame because it only had 168K on it. After spending some money and investing some time she is back to 100%

A real joy to drive. Very peppy and great handling. Fit and Finish is perfect. Leather seats, Moonroof, 8 speaker stereo with 6 cd changer, heated seats and mirrors, a/c, cruise everything. Who cares about the rear seat leg room. I don't sit there!!! My wife and I have driven it Across Canada!

Great styling! Aggressive and pretty. A lot better then current "jellybean" Acuras.

I look forward to keeping this car.

Thanks for the great review on your Vig. The guy who owned it before you should be publicly flogged. I own a 1993 GS with the 5 speed. I genuinely love the car. I just put on a "RACTIVE" performance muffler as well as a performance air filter. I noticed a definite boost in performance as well as a decrease in fuel consumption. Thanks again. Jim (Moose Jaw)
