2002 Alfa Romeo 147 Selespeed review from Australia and New Zealand
"An overly complicated, but fun to drive car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Multiple Selespeed System Failures and VDC and also ABS failures and it's a rough ride in CITY mode.
My key needs replacing as it sometimes fails to open my boot and also to open and lock doors. I also think the design of the key is bad as I keep having to look at it in order to remember which button is to lock the car and which one is to unlock it.
I find that even though it's a 5 door, there is not enough space to carry larger items. The back seats don't fold down all the way when you need them to in order to fit larger items in the boot.
The passenger window rattles a little and the dash makes friction noises when going over bumps sometimes.
General comments?
I like the sound of the engine, but the car really isn't fast enough for my liking. It is not a sports car.
Handling is excellent.
It beeps when you are low on fuel, it beeps when you are in reverse, it beeps when you have system errors. I feel like I am driving a computer. I hate the way it beeps at me all the time. I feel in general that it is too complicated for it's own good.
