2005 Alfa Romeo 147 review from Australia and New Zealand
"Breath-taking performance, remarkable comfort"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Manual door key broke at 340 kilometers, I was quite disappointed, as it meant going to the dealer and organising the car to be fixed in a booking 3 days later. still under warranty so it was fine. the bad thing was the alfa only gave us one automatic key (with buttons on it) and one manual key.
Already noticed a little rattle within the door, I can't figure out where it is coming from.
General comments?
The Alfa Romeo 2005 147, doesn't posses too many obvious qualities ontop of those of its predecessors, but, that does not disappoint me at all. the peaky and free rev-ing engine in the 2.0 147 that I've got is remarkable! off the mark, the automatic clutch slips just enough to allow me to get away in full traction, lunging off the start... but we see the car perform at its best where given opportunity at high speed handling and acceleration. once comfortable with the car, I am over-satisfied in every way I move it, the car loves to impress me giving back comfort and performance in every maneuver.
the only critisizms i have of the car ergonomically are that: seating position is a bit strange, and being the first Alfa that i had ever driven, i found it hard to find that perfect seating postion.
the other this is in selespeed mode if i chose to upshift or downshift in a corner i would have to go for the gear stick rather than the steering wheel shifters because they are attached to the steering wheel, making it difficult to shift.
i also found the sound headunit of poor quality and fustrating when first getting to know it.
