What things have gone wrong with the car?
I will start at the beginning. This is my company car and I took it over from the person who used to my job in May 2001. When he handed me the keys he said " it has a rattle that will drive you to distraction and it has broken down on me twice already" what can I say except not a good start.
June 2001
In garage to look at rattle
Problem not fixed.
June 2001
In garage for rear off side wheel bearing to be fixed.
First garage I took it to could not repair it due to the fact they had too many cars in with faults. Had been booked in two weeks previously.
Second garage found the tyre was out of shape and that the bearing was fine.
September 2001.
Went in the garage to have the following work done supposedly for 3 days, actually 8 days
New steering wheel
New gear stick
Drivers seat Leather repair
Body Kit re-fixed
New CD/Stereo
Seat belt sticking.
May 2002.
Boot jammed while in London before going into a meeting.
Garage got the boot open waited 10 days for parts.
October 2002.
Throttle stopped working altogether had to wait 48 hours for parts.
November 2002.
Gear box kept missing 3rd gear, still sat in garage while I argue with Alfa Romeo's Customer non-service department who pays for it.
General comments?
The performance of this car is great for what you pay.
The styling is fantastic.
