1969 AMC AMX review from North America

The tach went out but I had a spare. The ignition shorted out but I had caused it. The brakes needed to be gone through because they leaked. These were too expensive to replace for a temporary driver. This is an old car that I just started driving everyday. They are really terrible in the hard rains and light snow.

The dash was one of my biggest concerns with a perfect dash til someone decided to see how soft it was with their fingertip. Interior parts are really expensive for this car compared to the other era cars. 800+ for leather seat covers only. 300+ for standard seat covers. Yeah, that is no cushion and for only two seats.

Really the parts in general are hard to get a hold of. There are plenty of resto parts stores, but some things just can't be bought. This is an eBay junky kind of car who likes to search for stuff. And don't be in a hurry.

This car is really a blast to drive with the 343 4speed close ratio and 354 posi rear. The exhaust was set up with flowmasters so it really sounded aggressive. The suspension was tight and corners a lot better than my 70 Mach 1 with a 351w and heavy duty suspension and rear swaybar. I wish I had the chance to set them up to see which is faster.

This car would be a perfect everyday car, other than the winder time with snow. With a strong built t-5 trans or one of those gearvendors if they make them for the Borg Warner.
