1986 Audi 4000 CS Quattro review from North America
"Fantastic everyday driver for the enthusiast in the family"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Just bought the car. Was going to be a rallye car, but I rescued it before the owner butchered it up.
Had to remove some homely home made mud flaps.
Put the wheel centers back on. Perform a major clean-up. Now it is a very nice blue sedan.
Needs new door handles, front leather seats repaired.
Runs fantastic.
My son has had one for a couple of years and it goes like a banchee with studded snows in the winter. He found this one for me. He has also recently purchased another 4000CS Quattro, which is complete and running, for a parts car for both of us. How cool is that! And with him being a professional tuner for a popular Subaru AWD performance center, we have all the stuff,, including a recessed AWD chassis dyno I helped install.
We have plans to put a 20 valve head on the engine with a turbo taken from a new STI on a custom manifold with intercooler. 250 whp will be fun in this car and it will still be reliable!
