1986 Audi 5000 S review from North America

Window motors needed replacement when bought and have now stopped functioning again.

Many starting difficulties, turned out to be caused by a battery with low crank.

Sunroof motor was gone when I bought the car.

Fuel pump went, but the junk yard sells them cheaply.

The lining on the inside of the roof has come loose.

The starter was replaced, because an auto repair shop didn't know why the car was not starting. Problem turned out to be a combination of bad fuel pump, bad battery, and bad electrical wiring.

Fuel tank got a hole in it when the car was towed.

Door handles broke, replaced it and it now broke again.

Too many problems to list, but its finally running like it should.

This car is one of the best handling big sedans I have ever driven. Great cornering manners when pushed hard and it's easy to manipulate through corners.

Good top speed I've managed to get it up to 190 km/h, however I don't think it was ever capable of reaching its top speed of 220 km/h as your would need more road then is available.

It could use more horsepower.

Suspension could be dropped an inch or two.

Interior is well designed.

Power seats are great, and they're heated!!

It is a great mannered, fun car in snow even without the anti-lock brakes, but that just makes driving more fun.

I've also been hit from behind, by a 2003 Subaru wagon, the wagons front was destroyed, and the Audi came out with a scratched bumper. Once again the bumper works here.
