"OLD DESIGN, TERRIBLE ENGINE, UNRELIABLE, EXPENSIVE, GAS GUZLING !"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Engine step motor,

front disks

doors hanging

suspention parts

front glas cracked

engine made strange noise

engine burned OIL.

General comments?

Terrible car to drive, it is slow and big.. yet tiny on the inside!

It does not rust, and that is the only plus it has!

...

It is not as reliable as advertised and has a high.. purchase price.

The car lacks power windows. air conditioning, and it STINKS inside!

I bought myself a fiat bravo 1.8 1996 and I am happy!

I am very unpleased with its design.. it is tiny on the inside.. it is so small 4 people struggle inside!

It BURNS GASOLINE LIKE HELL.. the engine is an antique and does not comprehand fuel economy.

AUDI SUCKS ! i'll never buy again !

You must have got a bad one mate. I could not fault the Audi 80 at all. At the end of day, there is no way you could say a Fiat was a better vehicle than an Audi, no offence.

As a driver that seems to be attracted to Fiat and Audi products in continuing serial ownership I would have to say that Fiats are where I retreat when the Audi steering racks and brakes start leaking pentosin like sieves or the cooling fan quits on a 41C day. Fiats are well designed and seem to be particularly bulletproof - relative to an Audi - and they are also easy to fix when they do go wrong or need maintenance. Ever tried to get an aircleaner out of Audi 200 - for gods sake I think you take the engine out?

I have Fiat #6 at the moment - but I am sniffing the air for my next Audi...

You had a bad one. I'm on my fifth second-hand Audi, my only car, and it's used to commute to work daily, plus drives out of town often.

But unlike other people who treat cars like washing machines, I actively maintain all my cars -- service every 6 months and catch every problem at the start so never anything major.

Gas guzzler? None of my Audis use up any more fuel than the equivalent Toyota Corona/Avensis.

People probably think that merely buying an Audi is like buying a Rolex. If you maintain an Audi, it will hold up much longer than the typical car. Fiat?!? Lucky you, there is a reason why they trail in reliability ratings in several countries, so if you're happy with your car, keep it. Clearly, it was maintained by its previous owner/s better than the Audi was.
