1988 Audi 80 TD review from Slovenia
"A comfortable, low - cost limousine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The water pump blew. It cost 100 euro to fix. (and 2 hours of my own work)
The ABS light comes on at 125 km/h (75 mph). Probably a relay error.
Driver seat broke. I Had to weld.
Clutch totally broke down. It cost 150 euro and 8 hours of my own work to fix.
Interior heat radiator blew, water spilled into cabin. Took 80 euro and 10 hours of my own work to fix. I had to take the whole dashboard apart.
General comments?
I really love this car. It is very solid, it still looks modern and is very comfortable.
The handling costs are at minimum. It has an average consumption of 5.5 liter/100 km.
It is a turbo diesel, has only 82 HP, but goes quite well. On flats it can reach up to 190 km/h.
