1988 Audi 90 Quattro review from North America
"A snow storms nightmare"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I replaced the Control Arm Bushings once at 200000 again at 228000.
I replaced the Struts at 228000.
I replaced the rear brakes, rotors, e-brake cables, LR inner CV boot and differential seal.
I replaced the clutch, rear main seal, Timing belt, cam and crank seals, water pump, valve cover gasket, thermostat at 200000.
I had a problem with the air flow meter at 224000. I also replaced the injectors at this time to remedy a hot start problem.
I replaced the power steering rack at 226000.
The drivers seat is very worn and ripped and the seat heater gave out.
I have also replaced countless little items that were worn, missing, broken, and such.
General comments?
Over all this car has been excellent. It's not super fast and it has a heavy amount of under steer.
But it has never left me stranded and continues to perform quite well.
Though I wish it had a turbo for the mountain trips.
But the Quattro system is super.
The car has a surprising amount of passenger room. Especially for such a small car, but the trunk is over taken by the gas tank.
