2002 Audi A4 review from North America

Ignition coils have went bad twice.

The radio broke and had to be replaced.

At each start up a loud surge would emit from the sub woofer, never could be fixed.

Several speakers had to be replaced.

Several exterior moldings had to be replaced.

The Turbo always hesitated and/or jerked.

There was a clunking noise in the shifting of the transmission.

Rattles in the dash were hard to determine where they originated from.

Rotors had to be resurfaced prematurely.

Air pump went bad.

Headlights did not work three times.

A total of 11 wheel alignments have been needed.

I have went through two sets of tires and picked up several road hazards due to tread type.

Suspension components had to be replaced.

Dash instrument cluster had to be replaced.

Oil and sludge in jet valves, had to be replaced.

Throttle body had to be cleaned approx. 4 times.

I could go on and on and on.

After receiving a call from a customer service rep. and informing them of my problems and concerns, the service manager called back and wanted the car to be brought in. However, once the car was brought in, the dealership was rude, no loaners were provided, was attempting to charge me for warranty/Audi advantage agreement covered items and then later stated they would not fix the car and I should not bring it back. This was told to Audi of America and shortly thereafter the car was repurchased as a goodwill gesture.

I would not purchase the 1.8T engine again as it had too many quirks and problems, I may purchase another Audi some time down the road however I would not purchase from the dealer so in this case I probably would not purchase an Audi again because of the experience I had and there is only one dealer nearby.
