2000 Audi A4 review from North America
"Good driving,"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have constant problems with my daytime lights. They burn out every 6 months. Audi cannot find the cause. Also, I have had 2 inspections done on the car because the "OIL check" lamp warning came on. I had the filter and oil (synthetic) changed which seem to have fixed the problem. This has happens after 5,000km. When I brake, the ABS kicks in. This happens if I am traveling at any speed. I am a careful driver and driving always at the speed limit. Needless to say the dealer did not find anything wrong. I took the car for an extensive checkup at our local CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) and they found the problem with the brake and said it could be a sensitive sensor which was triggering it. I also had them check my windshield because on the driver side I noticed rust accumulation. They found the problem - Rust on the wiper. I had the same checks done at the dealer for this rust problem and they changed a hose costing me $300 plus the tax (15% of the cost of the hose). Imagine that!!! I would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions regarding the "OIL" check. I have lost all confidence on the high priced Audi mechanics ($85.00 Canadian)
General comments?
I like the car, it drives well, but because of the high maintenance bill and incompetent high price mechanics I won't buy an Audi again.
