1999 Audi A6 Avant Quattro from North America - Comments

There was a recall which the dealer fixed right away.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but when we first bought the car one tire went flat. The 4 wheel drive performed so exceptionally well compensating for the flat tire that my wife did not even notice it was flat. She drove for 4 miles before parking it; we had to replace the tire! But felt very good about a blown tire on the highways, if it were to ever happen; the manual states the three tires compensate for a non performing tire.

It has been performing exceptionally well, even though with the high mileage and the price I paid for it, I was told I should expect a lot of maintenance expenses. It has been exactly a year, and my wife and I are both very impressed with the comfort, performance and the up keep prices.

I have been changing oil and putting gas in it, the car has been doing the rest! :)

Thanks for your input, Currently looking at a 1999 one owner wagon with 130k on the clock. The car looks showroom new. This might be my next ride... Just out of an Astro van with 265k miles. I was sad to see it go, but proud to pass it on to its third owner.
