Bose Symphony stereo system was defective. It was cheerfully replaced by the dealership.
Windshield developed stress cracks, but was quickly replaced (free of charge) by dealership.
Purge valve malfunction caused "check engine" light on dash to glow. A dealership 2000 miles away from home fixed it within 15 minutes of pulling into the lot (without an appointment). The valve failed again, but was replaced by home dealership.
The V-8 offers unbelievable performance and combined with the quattro drive system is an experience unequalled in any vehicle. There are faster cars, but they don't handle like the A-6 and can't hold a candle to its level of luxury, engineering, and design. The sound of the engine is a masterpiece. All this and 24 mpg on the highway while cruising at 75 MPH.
Road noise from the wide tires is about the only drawback I have noticed.
Dealerships (with one exception in North Dakota) are eager and willing to answer questions, solve problems, provide the free regular service, and (this sounds corny) make you feel like one of the family.
I also notive the Road noise from the tires. I believe I have the recommended tires, but I still fill the road noise. Does anybody knows what are best tires to avoid the road noise.
Tires,
Every tire has different road noise levels. It does not have anything to do with tire width. My dad recently has continental Contitour tires on his Jaguar Vandenplas (the tire are touring not High or ultra high performance, but are not all season, he has studded tires for the winter as we live in Canada near the Rockies) He switched to Pirelli P4000 E tires and the comfort as well as road noise and grip are unbeleivably better. I am not sure as to which applicaiton of tire you are looking at, for the best in performance and road noise levels, you should have UHP (ultra high perofrmance) summer tires, and if you need winter tires, have designated winter tires. You will pay more, but in the end both sets will last longer. And despite what people may think, UHP tires are Very comfortable and quiet, however HP (high performance) tires are stiff, loud and far to grabby on uneven surfaces which makes you fight with the steering wheel.
The winter tires on the Jaguar are studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta
My mom has Nokian All Weather tires on an Acura Integra those are great, comfortable low noise level all weather tires.
However the best application I think would be the Pirelli p4000e summer and Nokian studded or not, Hakkapeliitta's for winter if needed.
Performance semi comfort go with the Goodyear Response Edge.
As for comfort go with the Goodyear Silent Armor.
