2001 Audi S3 review from Australia and New Zealand
"Audi S3 Potent is disguise"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Clutch master cylinder broke along with the clutch pedal, at 72,500km
which cost AU $488.
I was told this was a common problem with the S3.
General comments?
Audi S3 has everything one would want in a car, strong engine especially since I added an APR chip which gets the power up from 154kw (206hp) to 190kw (254hp) and with a spot on 6 speed manual, it makes a beautiful marriage.
Handling is superb, although a little stiff, which is to be expected once you take the corners and bends with aplomb.
This would have to be the hottest little hatch going around, although a little pricey which is justified by all the goodies. Sunroof, cruise cntl, Bose stereo, Recaro seats etc.
I in my mid 40's and this car has made me feel young again.
The only negative would be that my son, who is in his early 20's always wants to borrow it. But that's OK as it's brought the generation gap a little closer.
