1973 BMW 2002 tii from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"Value for money cult car with better than average performance and German build quality - thumbs up!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Great little 73 old school cult car, last round tail light fjord blue tii purchased a couple of years ago. When I first took delivery, it used to miss every now and then and just stall on highway. Its been running sweet since playing around with cold start valve. Its still a daily driver and blows a little smoke on down change after wide open throttle. Had a flame come out of the exhaust after spirited driving, possible injectors,

General comments?

Its driven extremely hard with minimal service. These cars handle so well, that I usually speed up around corners. Engine will be rebuilt with an aggressive shrick cam at the end of year, can't wait. The previous 2002 was a carby 1970 model, heap of fun too. I fitted it with a double barrel downdraft set-up, it used to break traction in second gear, new owner shipped it 5000 kms sight un-seen.
